Aaron grew up on a small farm in Newark, NY where he developed a passion for nature, animals and artwork. Through his youth and even now Aaron has always enjoyed hiking as a way to connect and explore our planet. It was during these experiences he realized he must find a way to express his creativity and share it with others.
Aaron graduated from Potsdam University with a degree in Studio Art after studying Art History, Painting, Photography, Drawing, Sculpture, and the Graphic Arts. He then relocated to San Antonio, TX to hone his craft and develop an innovative metal sculpture process. His extensive design experience, computer graphics and drafting skills allowed him to pioneer a style of surface finishes that makes his work truly unique and captures his creativity.
Aaron's metal artwork has been sold to museums, galleries and private collectors across the world. His artistic process involves carefully considering each piece's design, subject, and composition, and how they will work together through the medium of steel. In addition, he explores new techniques and experiments with different methods to create pieces that are both beautiful and emotionally resonant.
Metal artwork is Aaron’s passion, and he pours his heart and soul into every project, resulting in the creation of exceptionally unique art. With over 20 years of experience he is the true master of his craft and is committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with steel!
"I start each piece with a pencil drawing, carefully refining the lines until I'm satisfied with the composition. Then I move on to pen and ink drawing, which gives me the lines I need to plasma cut the steel. Once I have my cut steel pieces, I work to manipulate the surface and create layered artwork that showcases the beauty of the subject matter while also incorporating movement and texture. This approach allows me to create metal pieces that have the look and feel of a painting, drawing viewers in and engaging them with the medium uniquely and innovatively". -Aaron
"As a metal artist, my inspiration comes from the beauty and complexity of the natural world around us. I draw on the textures, shapes, and colors of plants, animals, and other organic elements to create pieces that capture the essence of nature while pushing the boundaries of what is possible with metal. Each piece is a unique expression of my passion for art and my respect for the materials I work with." -Aaron
